After Sunday’s Lesson there may be some of you that are still asking, “Why is that so important?”  The reason for its importance is pretty evident all around us, and March is the month we are talking about Justice maintaining the very balance of life on our planet.  In those discussions we are affirming:  We are stepping humbly towards justice through loving acts of mercy.  Let’s step forward with a few quotes from different cultural perspectives: 

I know that as we move closer to our Nashville Chooses Peace Festival – April 27^th – that you will want to acknowledge you own “essentialness” in the conversations and movement of more and more peace on this planet.  Peace can only come through Oneness and Oneness cannot happen unless we begin to have this deeper conversation about Justice. 

Learning to live in relationship to spirit is a uniquely personal journey.  It means awakening to the sacredness in every moment and in all forms of life.  I leave you with the word Namaste’ meaning:

My soul honors your soul.

I honor the love, light, beauty, truth and

Kindness within you – because

It is also within me.

In sharing these things

There is no distance and no difference between us.

We are the same.  We are one.

If you are reading this, I am returning to Nashville from a Spiritual Experience in Eagle Butte, South Dakota (population around 1500). I will be staying on a Reservation and experiencing what real Native American life, conversations and experiences look like.  I know that when I return to Unity of Music City, I will be changed, maybe not showing on the outside, but feeling very different on the inside. 

Last Sunday, our youth took us on a journey through Oz to discover what we say we believe in Unity – “The Answers are right inside of each of us.”  There is a song that we sometimes sing, “It’s in everyone of us to be wise, find your heart open up both your eyes.”  Have you ever wondered how the world could be different if each of us really knew that all our answers were right inside?  What if we knew we didn’t have to march to the beat of anyone else’s drum?    

I affirm that the youth wet your appetite for more.  During March we will be focusing on the Divine Order of the Universe and how Justice is a big part of that “order.”  Have you ever taken the time to define what Justice is?  In our 3D world today, Justice can be defined as fairness or a lack of bias.  And how many of us know of situations where it seems that concept does not play out because of . . . you fill in the blank. 

One of the minor prophets in the Old Testament, (They are called minor prophets because their books are smaller – who knew!?)  became very upset with the powers/government of the day because he saw how people were treated.  He felt that the treatment was inhumane and he spoke out about it.  One of the scriptures that is well known from his book is Micah 6:8 begins with the words, “What does the Lord require of you?”  Of course in metaphysical terms Lord = Law.  

So begin to look at the following through the lenses of Universal Law – “What I do to another I do to myself.”  (We are all one.) 
 

DO  Justice

LOVE  Mercy

WALK  Humbly
 

If you look closely at the left of the equation the words DO LOVE WALK should jump out.   What if – and that’s a big “if” – every time you placed your feet on the ground, love was walking?
