Denise’s Daring Daydreams for 11-05-2015

“If we want to be ‘People of Vision’ – We must be careful of what we see.”  These words are oh, so true and were written by Dr. Judy at least 12 or 13 years ago.  At the time we were a spiritual community on fire with a dream to have a church building on some grounds where we could create many different kinds of experiences.  So we had spent time dreaming – visioning together.  We had plastered words all over sheets of paper.  We had created all of the ideas and spent time sifting through all the words and thoughts to begin creating something brand new for ourselves.

Were there struggles at the time to “be careful of what we see?”  Why yes!  There were persons who told us, “You can’t do it!”  And each and every time those words came out of someone’s mouth – the words were associated with some sort of “lack and limitation.”  A sense of, ‘not enough’.  And as Susan Gorrell stated about us many times – “We were the little church that could!”  Did the dream manifest quickly?  Well no – It took time – time for our leadership to get on board first – and then the majority of our congregation to believe.  It took us bringing in people like Paula Languuth Ryan to work with our leadership and make us recite over and over, “I’m Big. I’m Big.!  And look at us in November of 2015.  We have created the dream that was visioned and spoken by so many.

We have a building and grounds – and – we are still calling ourselves “little” and seeing lack and limitation.  Because we are not seeing the beauty of what has happened over those 12 – 13 years.  We are not focusing on all the lives we have touched.  All the people who have come through our doors and gotten just the message they needed or the support to begin really living their lives in a different way.  We are not focusing on the persons who are living and breathing and having their being inside a new creation because we told them – We Believe In You!

On Sunday Morning we have another opportunity to come together and support each other, first in a Celebration Service that will be spectacular.  “That” you can always count on.  Great Music from our Praise and Worship Team and Unity Unleashed.  Special Music by Carol Grace Anderson.  An inspirational talk by me entitled, “There Are No Gaps in Infinite Good.”  And then if that is not enough we have a Chili Cook off lunch; great sharing in a Congregational Meeting; and a time to look to the future of Unity of Music City.

Do I know what is in our future?  Not really – because we (and I am referring to the collective we because many of us have been offering other ways to reframe) have been looking more at the lack and limitation than at the True 20/20 Vision before us.  Charles Fillmore states, “Vision is seeing God as the foundation of all, the sources of all, and the substance of all.  Seeing the good, the true, and the beautiful everywhere.”   True 20/20 Vision is the place where God Shows Up!  I urge you to be a part of this Sunday as we truly focus on what it means to live “The Unity Way of Life.”  — But only join us, if you have – the guts to say – “I’m Big, I’m Big”   (translated – I can hold a bigger vision than what I am seeing with my human eyes).

Denise’s Daring Daydreams for 10-22-2015

Has anyone noticed our marque at the street?  Be a Mojo Magnet for Good.  We have been receiving lots of comments about that sign. One of our recent wedding parties had a picture taken beneath the sign.  So as a member or frequent flyer at Unity of Music City, what does the message written on our sign mean to you?

Over the last two weeks we have been discussing what “The Unity Way of Life” really is.  Many persons get into Unity from a very philosophical viewpoint.  There are lots of principles and information to “mull over in your mind” and — as the Course in Miracles trailer said —  “I know it’s true, but I don’t believe it!”  I have had congregants and coaching clients say to me, I feel the love and I see that so many of you are happy – and I just don’t understand how to keep that going once I leave the service.

The way to “keep it going” is to work on your own Mojo.  Mojo means energy…..energy that you are flowing out into the universe; or as we discussed last evening, into your home, your pets, your friends, your office, your plants etc.  Tama Kieves, the writer of Inspired and Unstoppablestates that “Mojo unleashes the electricity that turns a lamp into an obliteration of darkness.”  Or – as we have been singing on Sundays during the offering, “This little light of mine, I’m gonna let it shine!”

So how do you begin to realize what your Mojo is?  Pay attention – Notice What You’re Noticing.   Are people attracted to my light?  – or –

Do people exit when I enter  the room?  What energy am I filling up the space with?  Have I really looked in the mirror lately and when I do, what do I see?    Or a better question, what do I feel?

Join us on Sunday morning as we unpack the conversation around Mojo and our own personal energy  – – your personal Attraction Magnet.   Come ready to let your big bright brilliant beam of radiant light shine!
