Denise’s Daring Daydreams for 04/21/2016

The way I respond to situations either creates peace or conflict in my life. Human beings respond every moment based on their understanding of how life works.  The Unity Way of Life speaks of using the 12 Powers of Man.  Three of those powers are found in the area of our head; hence we “think” about things before we make decisions.  Those three powers are Faith located in the center of the brain, and Will and Understanding located in the area of the right and left temples.

Over the last two weeks we have focused on the first two and affirmed:

  • Faith

“Belief in my own divinity creates magic in my life.”

  • Will

“Magic happens when I am willing to see this person or situation differently.”

This Sunday we begin to shine the light on our Personal Understanding of how to create a more peaceful life.  Peace comes through creating a spiritual practice and watching our understanding grow.  “Daily Spiritual Practice brings Magic into my Life.”

A spiritual practice gives us direct access to Universal Mind where we literally open the portal for a personal download from Holy Spirit.  That my friend is the easy way to gain understanding.  The way most of us have used is personal experience which does produce wisdom in the end, but sometimes is the “hard way” of doing life.  As I heard Tina Turner state in a concert years ago, “We’re gonna take the beginning of this song and do it easy, and then we’re gonna do the finish rough.”   Rev. D says, what about doing the entire thing in ease and grace?  Do you believe it is possible?

Some of us met last evening and learned another magical process of grounding to Mother Earth taught by Mary Ann Chambers. We ended the experience by offering prayers of gratitude and adding tobacco and corn meal around our newly planted Peace Pole.  I remind each of you, there is a spiritual practice that will offer you peace and a deeper understanding of life.  All it takes is a bit of faith, willingness, and understanding to go the distance.

Whether this email finds you in a place of peace or a place of questioning why your life is moving in a certain direction, I hope you will take the time to join us on Sunday  morning for a lesson on Peaceful Understanding.  The amazing and passionate Sherrie Phillips will be in the house adding to the Musical Magic of the day.

Peace is the Way,

Denise’s Daring Daydreams for 04/14/2016

In the beginning of 2016 Unity of Music City began affirming, We Choose Peace.  In fact, we affirm the words in song every Sunday morning at the end of our Sacred Walk of Abundance.  That fact leads me to the real question.  Am I willing to release old ways of being, making room for the vibration of peace in every area of my life?

I know that some days I get caught up in continuing the drama that unfolds in front of me and seem to forget for the moment my ability to make a different choice.  In thinking about why I forget or possibly would not be willing, the answer is usually I would have to make an effort to change my mind.  I do not want to go through the process of changing the familiar way of being that seems fixed in my personality.  Saying things like, “That’s just the way that I am,” or “That’s just the way we do things here,” keeps me stuck.

The Disciple Matthew represents Will.  When Jesus the Master Teacher met him, Matthew was a dishonest Tax Collector taking advantage of people to gain power and money.  Quiet interestingly, Jesus and the other disciples were willing to “set Matthew free” from their personal opinions and judgments.  Matthew had used his knowledge and power in many situations to hurt or harm innocent people.

Many of us would say that decision doesn’t make logical sense.  The facts from the past proved that Matthew could not be trusted to be a disciple of Jesus, a provider of love, joy, and peace to others.  Who in their right mind would give him the role of trusted friend and confidant? And in the midst of all this information, the Christ within Jesus the man called him out.

Even though the decision might appear strange, the Christ within each of us recognizes and begins to harmonize with the vibration of peace.  Peace calls us up to a higher place.  That process begins to happen for each of us when we are willing to set others free from our personal opinions, remembering it is in every one of us to be wise.   When we choose Peace, through the Reset Breath and Quiet Touch our vibration shifts within Body, Mind and Spirit.  It is then that we begin the process of healing.  That vibration of Peace brings healing from separation and judgment.

Jesus the Master Teacher knew that calling Matthew up to his divine appointment would allow not only Matthew a place to shine, but also a deep learning experience for everyone in the group of followers who were most likely stating loudly, “Master, you know you can’t trust Matthew.”  I wonder if they had “camel lot discussions” when Jesus wasn’t around?

Join us on Sunday morning as we discuss Peaceful Willingness.  Am I willing to allow the vibration of Peace to heal my Body Mind and Spirit from those people, places, and situations that I have held the most judgment against?  In John chapter 12 verse 32 Jesus states “If I be lifted up from the Earth, I will draw all humankind up with me.”  This was spoken by Jesus the Master Teacher as he was preparing his disciples for his departure.  This verse is not speaking of death.  Being lifted up is speaking of eternal life in the Kingdom of Heaven, whether that be here on the earthly plane or in the next dimension.

Being “Lifted Up” refers to being in the world but not of it.  So in our lives, as we travel down roads that sometimes are dark and possibly a bit weary may the living loving spirit of God in which we live, move, and have our being Grant us Peace and Give Us Courage to remain Willing.  May we be willing to rise above the vibration of the things that keep us from peace.

Peace is the Way,
Rev. D
