Rev. Denise Yeargin is a native Nashvillian who grew up in a very conservative Christian family.  This gives Rev. D, as many of her congregants and persons in the community call her, an edge when she is explaining the Unity Journey and why she decided to take it.  Denise says that “Unity is the heart of a Positive Practical and Progressive Spiritual Journey.  The thing that makes our Spiritual Journey a bit different than many others is that it expands to include all faith traditions.  Therefore, Unity of Music City is on an ongoing journey and path to deepen collectively our connection to the Force of all Creation – by whatever name you call your higher power.”

Denise has held several roles in Unity World Wide Ministries including
  • Education Team – instrumental in writing curriculum for Youth Programs and instrumental in creating Multi-Generational Services
  • Field Licensing Team – Assisting persons who desire to become an Ordained Minister to serve a spiritual community while going through the process
  • Prayer Chaplain Team – Chaplain to Ministers in the South Eastern Region

Denise believes each of us should become a #force4good in this world.  Denise is very involved in the Nashville Community.  She collaborated with another minister and they began a Not for Profit Organization called OneNashville which focuses attention on the underserved in the Greater Nashville Community.   The other ways Denise steps into Sacred Activism are:

  • Member of Greater Nashville Area Chamber of Commerce – on the Education Committee which takes a look at the way Metro Nashville Public Schools is serving our students.
  • Donelson Hermitage Chamber of Commerce – Auxiliary Board Position – Over the Ambassador Program
  • Leadership Donelson/Hermitage/Old Hickory – on Board of Directors as Lead in Alumni Involvement
  • Love Helps – Auxilary Board Position as a Lead Coordinator for Volunteer Reading Program in Kindergarten Classes as a part of Metropolitan Nashville Public Schools.
  • Larry Keeton Theater Board of Directors – Community Theater serving the Donelson/Hermitage/Old Hickory Area.

Denise and her life partner Dr. Judy Blackwelder own a company called, The High Vibration Zone.  This company offers a wide range of services to assist persons in moving forward in their lives:  “Change your vibe – Change your life.”
